•Cloning and protein expression•
The Protein Structure Factory studies the structures of human proteins. Target lists are compiled in collaboration with the group of Peer Bork at the EMBL Heidelberg. The German Resource Center provides the cDNA starting material. cDNA fragments are cloned into yeast and E. coli expression vectors. High throughput methods for cloning and characterisation have been established.
E. coli fermentation and large scale purification are carried
out by Alpha Bioverfahrenstechnik.
